Dr. Macário has worked with Diaverum and its predecessors since 2001, starting with the Aveiro Clinic, acquired from Gambro. In 2018 he took over responsibility as Medical Director for the Iberia region.
Dr Macário holds an M.D. in nephrology and has broad experience in renal medicine, including basic and clinical research. He was coordinator of the Renal Transplant Unit of the University Hospital of Coimbra, president of the Portuguese Society of Transplantation between 2009-2016 and has been in charge of the Portuguese registry of Dialysis and Transplantation since 2007.
