FAQs
To ensure you receive proper care and treatment, and to meet nation statutory obligations.
Wear comfortable clothes that allow easy entry to your access site i.e. button up shirts and/or short sleeve tops. You can also bring your blankets for use while you dialyse because temperatures in the clinics tend to vary. We would also kindly ask that you wear sensible footwear and avoid flip-flops, especially if you are unsteady on your feet, have fallen in the previous 12 months, or you currently use a wheelchair or walking stick to assist with mobility.
We have limited space to store patient belongings. Please do not bring anything to the clinic except what you need for your care and comfort.
Each Treatment Centre has free patient parking available while you are receiving treatment.
We endeavour to accommodate patients’ shifts as much as possible. However, please feel free to discuss your specific needs with your clinic manager.
If you feel unwell during dialysis or have any concerns about a change in your health you should tell one of the nurses and they will arrange for you to see a doctor. If your situation is serve to come for dialysis treatment please contact the hospital immediately.
Yes, if you have been on dialysis for at least six months and your condition is stable, we can arrange for you to have holiday dialysis domestic or abroad (We don’t suggest to go abroad for holiday dialysis recently due to COVID 19 situation). However, there are some restrictions so if you plan to go on holiday, please let your named nurse or clinic manager know as soon as possible. There are holiday coordinators at each clinic who will assist you in making arrangements with the receiving clinic.
Occasionally patients wish to show their appreciation to the staff. We ask that gifts of any description should be for the benefit of the clinic, and not for individual employees who are not allowed to accept personal gifts. You can also nominate an employee for our Yearly Company Award, which entitles him/her to a prize and a mention in our newsletter.
