At Diaverum, we engage with local communities to educate patients, their family members, friends, and caregivers about kidney disease.

In Spain and Portugal, our patient education programme informs the patient and their family about healthy activities, dietary recommendations, and disease prevention to increase health literacy in their local communities.

In Portugal, we participate in several healthcare fairs to raise awareness about diseases like hypertension and diabetes that may lead to kidney failure. We maintain close relationships with the local patient associations to ensure that we remain perceptive of our patient’s needs.

Educating families about dietary constraints and other treatment guidelines enables them to make informed choices about their health. That way, we can use our expertise to advance kidney disease prevention and improve the health of the local communities in which we operate.

“The future in dialysis would be a more holistic view of the patient’s needs and addressing these needs, rather than their kidney failure. ”
